Some patrons note that during peak times, particularly Tuesday afternoons and Friday evenings, the restaurant can get crowded, making wait times longer than usual. This can detract from the overall experience for those eager to enjoy their meals without delay. Additionally, while most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, there are occasional mentions of inconsistency in chip portions, leaving some diners wishing for more.
A few opinions mention that those seeking gourmet twists may find the menu a bit traditional. Diners accustomed to modern interpretations of fish and chips might feel that the offerings are a bit too standard, missing unique fusions or creative presentations compared to other dining spots.
Small but perfectly formed. I’m not usually a big fish supper fan but it’s a good benchmark for a chip shop and I can confirm it was delicious. Fish was clean and flavourful, chips had a bit of crunch. Nice location and fairly priced
Came to visit Glasgow starting on the 15th and leaving shortly. I can now confidently say this is my favorite chip shop in the city. Service is fast and friendly. I had the sausage supper with 2 sauages, pictured below (one sausage didn't make it to the photo bc it was too delicious to not eat straight away), and it was incredible. Crispy batter with a juicy sausage inside. Chips were incredibly well cooked, not over or under as with some others we tried. Keep up the great work, Grove team, and my girlfriend and I will surely see you on our next trip to Glasgow.
Top little Pub, good Service
Was on a business trip staying the Lorne hotel which was amazing by the way, traveling around the area to grab a bite, I was drawn into the Grove because it was busy and I can understand why! Great food especially their pie and chips...Lovely staff and they Evan made me a Deep fried mars bar coated in batter which was the best 10seconds of my life!!!! Definitely if your around the area be sure to check out the grove 👍❤️
Great food, reasonably priced, quick and friendly service. Will go again!
Visited here 3 times when i was staying in Glasgow. Highly recommend. Had the haggis supper every time.
Pizza crunch is supreme. Super lovely and not dry. Chips are chucked onto the pizza so if you want them separate - order them as such.
